The Library’s Book Donation

Jake had a collection of books he’d outgrown—children’s books, picture books, and early readers. He didn’t want to throw them away, so he decided to donate them to the local library. The librarian was thrilled, saying the books would be perfect for the little kids who visited. Jake helped the librarian shelve the books, and he saw a little girl pick up one of his old favorites, Goodnight Moon. She smiled, flipping through the pages, and Jake felt happy knowing his old books would bring joy to someone else. He learned that donating things you no longer need is a kind act—it gives new life to your old belongings and brings happiness to others. The library put a small note in each book, saying “Donated with love by Jake,” and he loved seeing kids read them. Sometimes, letting go of something can be a gift to someone else.
